Stop Stereotyping Iceland - No More Clichés Please or I'll Close the Curtains

FM Brussel 98.8 The Vikings are coming

Listen to the program @ www.fmbrussel.be/artikel/de_vikingen_komen.aspx

First they put an Interview online with the program director of the Ancienne Belgique (AB) venue Kurt Overbergh, an Icelandic music fan for 10 years. Telling some decent things about Iceland & the Icelanders but also the stereotypes and false truths are coming above (erupting :)) unfortunately.

Pétur Ben
Interview with the singer-songwriter Pétur who is working on an Album with the famous (at least in Iceland) Bubbi Morthens.
Why is it so hard to pronounce the names of Björk and Sigur Rós correctly? When it's English, French or Spanish they all do an effort ... The "¨" and "' " on the letter o do mean something.
Fortunately he gives a nice interview - some hours before he went on stage with his band - and he isn't talking in clichés and stereotypes about the island.
He performed 2 songs Live in the Radio Studio: "Something radical" and "Billy Jean" (cover of Michael Jackson's hit). Nice short gig on the radio Pétur!
"Something radical" Live @ Icelandic TV some years ago.

"Billy Jean" Live @ Gaukurinn venue, downtown Reykjavik (2005)

Radio 1 "Mezzo" about Iceland on the edge Festival

Radio host Ruth Joos called Iceland "small" (it is more than 3 times bigger than Belgium - so Belgium is tiny Ruth !?).
