Dísa’s Danish Winter Warmers
21-year-old singer/songwriter Dísa is to play two concerts in the coming weeks. Both happen to be on a Thursday and both are in Copenhagen. The first is at Islandsbrygge and will take place on Thursday 27. November; the second is at Jolene’s and takes place Thursday 4. December.
Dísa’s debut album was released earlier this summer, receiving top reviews from every newspaper and music magazine in Iceland and two of her singles hitting the top of the charts. The album was developed over the last two years with a number of different collaborators such as Cameron McVie, Mark Ronson and Shelly Poole. The final result, however, is very much her own distinctive writing end performing style, produced by Icelanders such as Ragnhildur Gísladóttir, Barði Jóhannsson and Anglo-American Sam Frank.
